TravelSpirit & Simply Connect Get Applause at Smart Cities Conference

Presenting to a select audience keen to understand on how smart technology can be used to improve our cities and contribute to the creation of a Northern Powerhouse, Si Ho – Transport for Greater Manchester, Neil Brown – Simply Connect and Giles Bailey – Stratageeb met with warm applause for their ambition to ‘make the world a better place’ while creating a money-making eco-system that will thrive on and support a global commons of code that would see TravelSpirit members enjoy a share in a new multi-billionaire pound a year Mobility as a Service market, while collaborating ‘Smart Cities’ will benefit from ‘ground-up’ community funded and for-the-community transport solutions. Venue confirmed for 28th June Launch Conference

Thanks to our new crowd-funding partners, Alliance Manchester Business School, we are pleased to announce that the 1st day of our launch event in June, which will be a 140 capacity conference held at Alliance Manchester Business School to bring together an elite line-up of thought leaders from a broad range of backgrounds, that are converging on the  ‘Intelligent Mobility’ space, to debate needs to happen in the UK to achieve ‘Mobility as a Service’ and what needs to happen next to support the growth of our global open source community.

TravelSpirit is a crowd funded, not-for-profit project, with the mission to grow a vibrant global community of developers, entrepreneurs and transport agencies/operators who, together, will build an open source ‘global commons of code’ for enabling ‘Mobility as a Service’ to thrive.

Small Vehicle Transport Systems get UK Ministerial Support

The UK’s Department for Transport are sponsoring a feasibility study into a new initiative in Manchester called Simply Connect, which aims to help local people and businesses make smarter travel choices by improving data and information about different forms of transport. Transport Minister Andrew Jones made specific reference to our TravelSpirit partner initiative in his key note speech at the Smarter Travel Live 2016 event in Milton Keynes, that was attended by the UK’s top transport professionals and leading light transport authorities.
